The tour package typically includes transfers to/from Puerto Maldonado airport, river transport by speedboat, accommodation in an eco-lodge in the rainforest, full board (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), a bilingual naturalist guide, and scheduled excursions: interpretive hikes, river navigation, nighttime caiman watching, visits to lagoons or macaw clay licks (depending on the itinerary), and loan of basic equipment such as boots and ponchos. Flights, bottled or alcoholic beverages, tips, personal expenses, travel insurance, and single room supplements are usually not included. Inclusions may vary depending on the tour duration; it is advisable to review the updated tour information and terms and conditions before booking.

Tambopata National Reserve is a year-round travel destination. The dry season (approximately May to October) offers clearer skies, firm trails, and excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing and nature photography; nights can be cool. The rainy season (November to April) brings heavy downpours, high rivers, increased humidity and mosquitoes, but also lush vegetation and abundant wildlife. Temperatures typically range from 22°C to 32°C. If you're looking for less rain and more comfortable hiking, the dry season is ideal; if you prefer fewer tourists, opt for the shoulder seasons. Book well in advance during peak season.

On this tour through the Tambopata Amazon rainforest, you can observe a wealth of biodiversity: macaws, toucans, and parrots at clay licks, various monkey species (howler, capuchin, and squirrel monkeys), capybaras, caimans, sloths, morpho butterflies, frogs, and, with luck, giant otters in lagoons like Lake Sandoval. Typical activities on the itinerary include day and night hikes with environmental interpretation, river navigation, caiman searches, canopy tours or observation towers, and sunrise birdwatching. Wildlife encounters are never guaranteed, but the best times are at dawn and dusk. Responsible tourism and minimal environmental impact are prioritized.

To enjoy your trip, pack a lightweight backpack and soft-sided suitcase, quick-drying clothing, long pants and long-sleeved shirts, a waterproof jacket or poncho, closed-toe non-slip shoes and sandals, knee-high socks, a hat, sunglasses, and a reusable water bottle. Essentials include: insect repellent with DEET or picaridin, high SPF sunscreen, a headlamp with batteries, a power bank, a waterproof case for your camera and phone, and binoculars. Pack personal medications and a small first-aid kit. Vaccinations such as yellow fever (admitted in advance), tetanus, and hepatitis A are recommended; consult about prophylaxis based on your medical history. Purchase travel insurance. Avoid perfumes, respect lodge rules, and carry cash in soles for extras.

You can book this tour online with the tour operator, selecting dates, number of travelers, and room type. Prices vary depending on the season, package duration (e.g., 3 days/2 nights or 4 days/3 nights), lodge category, and availability. The trip typically begins at Puerto Maldonado Airport, with reception, road transfer, and boat trip to the eco-lodge. Cancellation, change, and rescheduling policies due to weather or safety issues depend on the provider; please review them before paying. It is advisable to secure your spot with a deposit and send your flight details to coordinate transfers. Also, check for discounts for families or groups.
