We will collect you from your hotel in the city of Huaraz and embark on a journey to the enchanting district of Marcará. Our route will include a scenic detour eastward, passing through the charming agricultural community of Vicos.
As we travel through the stunning Paqcharuri Valley, you'll be enveloped by impressive forests teeming with native flora such as nettles, puca puca, shilco, and more. After a one-and-a-half-hour drive, we will arrive at the starting point of our trek.
Experience a one-hour (2 km) hike through breathtaking landscapes until we reach the Frozen Lagoon of Rocutuyoc, where the power of nature is palpable with every step. Renowned for its turquoise waters, this lagoon offers panoramic vistas of the majestic snow-capped peaks of Paccharaju, Bayoraju, Copa, and Akilpo, true marvels of the Andean range.
This stunning lagoon is nestled within Huascarán National Park and extends 852 meters in length. The tour also features a visit to the spectacular Paqcharuri waterfall and ancient cave paintings, providing a connection to the region's millennia-old history.
After enjoying time by the lagoon, we will commence the one-hour (2 km) return hike to reach our transport. To complete the experience, you have the option to savor a delicious lunch at a local restaurant before we head back to the city of Huaraz.
Upon our return to Huaraz, we will drop you off near the city’s Plaza de Armas.
