Tour Description
Our journey begins with picking you up from your hotel in the city of Puno and making our way to the port of Isla Esteves, situated on the picturesque shores of Lake Titicaca. Here, our expert guide will provide you with a brief overview of the tour before we embark on this exciting adventure using a water bike.
We will pedal for an exhilarating hour and a half, taking in the stunning views of the vibrant birdlife and awe-inspiring landscapes. Along the way, we will encounter Isla Foroba, a rugged island often referred to as Devil's Island.
Lake Titicaca holds the title of the highest navigable lake globally, perched at an impressive 3,812 meters above sea level. This captivating destination straddles the borders of Peru and Bolivia, boasting significant islands such as Isla Taquile and Isla Amantaní.
Our bike ride will take us to the floating islands of the Uros, where we will enjoy a guided tour and have leisure time to explore. You will have the opportunity to interact with the local inhabitants, visit their family homes, and gain insight into their ancestral customs and lifestyle.
The Uros Islands are a unique collection of islands crafted from totora reeds. The houses here are also constructed from this abundant material. The predominant language spoken on these islands is Aymara, although Spanish is also widely used.
The region's rich fauna includes fish such as trout and bird species like hawks, herons, and Andean ducks.
Upon concluding our adventure, we will return to the port of Isla Esteves and ensure your transfer back to your hotel.
