After picking you up from the hotel (optional), we will embark on an exciting journey to the town of Pitec. Along the way, we will pass through traditional Quechua villages such as Unchus and Llupa, where you can admire their adobe homes and crop fields.
Our trek will commence following registration for entry into the Huascaran National Park. As we ascend for about an hour and a half, we'll encounter a rocky area adorned with stunning waterfalls. We will then tackle a rather challenging path for an additional 45 minutes, leading us to the breathtaking Lake Churup at 4,450 meters above sea level.
Throughout the trek, you will have the chance to observe a rich diversity of flora and fauna. We'll stroll around this charming lake with its crystal-clear waters, taking in the incredible landscapes with ample time to capture photos and enjoy a well-deserved break.
The Huascaran National Park was designated as a Biosphere Reserve in 1977 and as a World Natural Heritage Site in 1985 by UNESCO. This protected area is home to some of the world's highest snow-capped peaks and features numerous glacial lakes, including Lake Churup.
Finally, we will retrace our steps to reach our transport, returning to the city of Huaraz.
