Descripción del Tour
This exceptional culinary adventure begins at the rendezvous point located at the picturesque Plazoleta of San Pedro, home to the renowned Market of San Pedro.
Established in 1925, this bustling market offers a diverse array of shops featuring an extensive selection of foodstuffs, including cheeses, fruits, vegetables, crafts, and menus, among other items.
The San Pedro Market serves as the primary provisioning hub in the city, attracting both tourists and locals every day. Historically, this site was part of the Inca Trail, which linked to the Plaza de Armas during the era of the Inca Empire.
The culinary journey continues with a brief stroll to the nearby cooking studio, conveniently situated close to the market in Cusco's historic center. Here, the kitchen awaits to commence the Peruvian cooking classes.
The class kicks off with the creation of a Peruvian cocktail known as the Pisco Sour, a traditional alcoholic beverage crafted from Pisco, a grape-distilled liquor, and passion fruit juice.
Our professional chef will guide you step by step in preparing a 4-course menu using fundamental cooking techniques. The culinary experience begins with the first course, a delectable Mashua Cream paired with purple corn chips. Mashua, a tuber grown in the high Andes of various South American nations, is similar to potatoes and boasts valuable nutritional benefits.
For the second course, you'll create three distinct types of ceviche. The first will be the classic style featuring red onion and coriander. The second, an ancestral style, will incorporate tumbo juice, a fruit native to the high jungle of the Andes, akin to passion fruit and high in vitamin C. The third ceviche will include kushuro (high Andean algae), tarwi (Andean soy), and camu camu, delivering a burst of flavors.
In the third course, you'll prepare a delicious rocoto pepper stuffed with mushrooms and vegetables, complemented by an organic garden salad and a velvety, creamy potato pie. Rocoto is a type of chili pepper, offering a spicy touch. For the potato pie, three varieties of potatoes will be utilized.
After each course, you'll savor your creations, enjoying traditional Peruvian cuisine crafted by your own hands while sharing a delightful moment with the group. You'll also have the opportunity to sample non-alcoholic beverages like Chicha Morada, a sweet drink made from purple corn.
For the fourth course, you will indulge in desserts made with aromatic and fresh exotic fruits such as lucuma, goldenberries, and cherimoya.
