Descripción del Tour
We will gather at the meeting point in the historic center of Arequipa.
The panoramic city tour of Arequipa begins in the charming district of Yanahuara, situated 2 kilometers from the Historic Center, on the right bank of the Chili River.
Explore the beautiful, narrow streets reflecting Spanish architecture, with delightful houses and notable attractions such as the Mirador of Yanahuara. This spot offers breathtaking views of the Misti, Pichu Pichu, and Chachani volcanoes.
This magnificent viewpoint, constructed in the eighteenth century, is adjacent to the Church San Juan Bautista and overlooks a charming small plaza. The arches made of ashlar feature inscriptions from significant figures of the city.
The Arequipa city tour proceeds to the Valley of Chilin to visit another remarkable viewpoint, known as Mirador de Carmen Alto. Here, you will enjoy stunning vistas of lush fields and the surrounding majestic volcanoes. This location served as an Astronomical Observatory from 1899 to 1927.
You will have the opportunity to observe pre-Inca and Inca terraces still in use for agriculture. Marvel at the fruit trees and gardens.
The subsequent stop is at the Incalpaca outlet and zoo, a store offering high-quality Alpaca garments at outstanding prices. The Alpaca fiber is soft, lightweight, and highly durable. Incalpaca exports its products to over 50 countries globally, with a strong focus on sustainability.
You can also explore the small zoo featuring South American camelids such as alpacas, vicuñas, llamas, and guanacos.
We will pass through the Sachaca district. Enjoy a panoramic view of an 18th-century colonial mansion known as the Goyeneche Palace. Additionally, you will notice the aquatic park of Tingo, a popular summer destination with pools for locals.
Next, we will visit the Founder’s Mansion, located 12 miles from the historic center. This residence belonged to the city’s founder, Don Garcí Manuel de Carbajal, in 1540. The city tour will also include a visit to the Molino de Sabandia, a picturesque mill built in 1621 that remains operational.
On our return to the city, you will observe the terraces of Paucarpata. The panoramic tour culminates at Plaza de Armas and the Santa Catalina Monastery.
