Tour Description

The Ballestas Islands tour kicks off in the morning, with an optional pickup from your hotel in Paracas, heading directly to El Chaco dock. This is where the boat excursion to the Ballestas Islands begins. Once aboard, you'll embark on an incredible adventure to explore these stunning islands.

The islands are situated just 30 minutes from the Paracas coast, within the Pisco province of the Ica department. This destination is a renowned tourist hotspot, celebrated for its unique ecosystem and remarkable wildlife.

As we journey towards the islands, you'll witness the mysterious lines etched into the sand forming a candelabrum. This enigmatic geoglyph spans 590 feet and dates back approximately 2,500 years. Its purpose remains a mystery on the dunes of the Paracas National Reserve, with some theories connecting it to the Nazca Lines.

Our tour continues as we reach the Ballestas Islands, a natural reserve renowned for its stunning geological formations, rocky islands, and diverse fauna. Here, you'll encounter Humboldt penguins, sea lions, and various bird species, including the pelican, among others in the archipelago.

The Island adventure and the Paracas peninsula are truly awe-inspiring, offering a memorable experience in Paracas.

Thanks to the abundant birdlife in the area, along with migratory species, these islands boast the world's finest natural fertilizer: guano. Among the guano birds, you’ll spot the booby, tendril, and guanay, among others. Between 1845 and 1866, Peru utilized guano to boost its economy.

As the tour concludes, we'll make our way back to the dock and then provide an optional drop-off at your Paracas hotel.
