Frequently Asked Questions

The Cusco Express tour typically includes airport-hotel-airport transfers, accommodation with breakfast at a tourist hotel, guided tours with an official Spanish/English-speaking guide, authorized tourist transportation, and entrance fees to the attractions mentioned in the itinerary. Depending on the option selected, it may also include train tickets to Aguas Calientes and bus tickets to Machu Picchu. It generally does not include international or domestic flights, unspecified lunches and dinners, personal expenses, tips, or travel insurance. Upgrades are available (4-5 star hotels, panoramic train, culinary experiences). Always check the final details of inclusions, exclusions, and confirmed schedules at the time of booking to ensure a smooth trip to Peru.

The Cusco Express tour package is typically designed for 3 to 5 days, prioritizing the must-see attractions of Cusco and, depending on the option chosen, Machu Picchu. A common itinerary includes: Day 1: Arrival, transfer, and city tour of Cusco; Day 2: Sacred Valley of the Incas and train to Aguas Calientes; Day 3: Guided tour of Machu Picchu and return; additional days can be dedicated to free time, Rainbow Mountain, or other cultural experiences. Schedules are subject to train ticket and entrance fee availability. You will receive a briefing and a detailed itinerary with pick-up points, estimated times, and recommendations to optimize your travel and tourism experience.

Cusco is located at approximately 3,400 meters above sea level, so acclimatization is key: rest for the first 24–48 hours, stay hydrated, avoid alcohol and heavy meals, and consider Andean herbal teas or medication for altitude sickness (consult a doctor beforehand). Machu Picchu is lower, at around 2,430 meters. The dry season (May–September) is ideal for trekking and photography, with cool mornings and clear skies; the rainy season (November–March) offers fewer visitors and lush green landscapes, but possible showers. April and October are transitional months. Purchase travel insurance and plan ahead during peak season to secure train and entrance tickets.

For the Cusco Express tour and the Machu Picchu excursion, bring a valid passport (or national ID for Peruvian citizens), layered clothing, a waterproof jacket, a fleece jacket, comfortable non-slip shoes, a hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, insect repellent, a reusable water bottle, and snacks. Carry cash in soles and a chip card; the voltage in Peru is 220V (a universal adapter is recommended). If you qualify for the student rate, bring your valid student ID. Small backpacks are permitted at Machu Picchu; items such as drones or tripods are restricted. Keep your digital train, bus, and time-slot entrance vouchers handy. Consider using walking sticks with rubber tips and a basic first-aid kit. Purchase travel insurance with medical assistance.

You can book the Cusco Express package online with email confirmation and e-vouchers. During peak season, it's best to book 30–60 days in advance. Many agencies accept credit/debit cards, bank transfers, or secure payment platforms. A deposit is usually required to guarantee entrance fees and train tickets; the balance is due before the tour begins. Cancellation policies vary: services like train tickets and Machu Picchu entrance fees may be non-refundable or subject to penalties; other services may have flexible cancellation options within certain timeframes. Date changes are subject to availability. We recommend purchasing travel insurance to cover unforeseen events.
