Tour Description
The day trip kicks off bright and early. We will collect you from your hotel in the city of Lima and transport you to the bus station for a 4-hour journey to the town of Paracas. Upon arrival, we'll proceed to the Pisco airport.
Here, you'll embark on an incredible 1.5-hour aerial adventure over the enigmatic Nazca Lines. During the flight, you'll witness stunning figures such as the monkey, the spider, the Condor, and various other drawings on these remarkable plains.
These fascinating geoglyphs were created by the Nazca culture, a pre-Inca civilization that thrived between 700 B.C. and 200 A.D. The drawings are visible from above, situated 280 miles south of Lima. Although first seen in 1547, it wasn't until 1929 that Peruvian archaeologist Julio C. Tello began to study them. In 1994, the Nazca Lines were designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
After the Nazca Lines tour, you'll be transferred to your hotel in Paracas for a well-deserved afternoon of relaxation.
The tour resumes early as we pick you up from your hotel in Paracas. We will head to El Chaco pier and board a boat for a tour of the Ballestas Islands, part of the breathtaking Paracas National Reserve. These rocky islands are situated just 30 minutes off the Peruvian coast.
Experience a diverse sea life, including sea lions and a variety of birds such as Humboldt penguins and pelicans, among other migratory species. You'll also have the chance to admire the renowned Candelabrum from the boat, a large geoglyph possibly linked to the ancient Nazca culture. The beauty of the Peruvian coast will undoubtedly captivate you.
After the visit, we will transfer you to the bus station for your return to Lima, concluding with a drop-off at your hotel.
