This extraordinary day tour begins with a convenient pick-up from your hotel in Lima, after which we will head north, leaving the bustling city behind. On our journey to the city of Caral in Supe, we will make a brief stop to enjoy breakfast (optional).
After traveling 113 miles north of Lima (approximately 5 hours), we will arrive at the Valley of Supe in the Barranca province, home to the renowned Sacred City of Caral.
Caral, officially unveiled in 1948, spans over 60 hectares and features significant urban structures including pyramidal edifices, plazas, an amphitheater, and residential complexes. The Caral civilization dates back to the late archaic period, boasting a history of 5000 years, and flourished between 3000 and 1800 BC.
Our expert guide will lead us through this remarkable city on a 2-hour tour, offering insights into the advanced development of this Andean civilization. You'll learn about their construction of irrigation canals with water reservoirs and their cultural customs and religious practices.
