Descripción del Tour

We will collect you from your hotel situated in the vibrant center of Iquitos to embark on a two-hour drive to Nauta, the gateway to the Peruvian Amazon. From this point, we will set sail on the Marañón River, where, with some luck, you might witness the enchanting dance of the elusive pink and gray dolphins in their natural surroundings. Our expedition continues to the Yarapa River, offering you an opportunity to swim in the Amazon waters, enveloped by untouched nature.

The Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, located in the Loreto region near Iquitos, stands as one of Peru’s most vital protected areas and the largest natural reserve within the Peruvian Amazon. Spanning over 2 million hectares, this reserve hosts a rich biodiversity, including iconic species like pink dolphins, jaguars, monkeys, and an extensive array of birds and plants. It’s a haven for nature enthusiasts, ideal for ecotourism and wildlife observation, featuring activities such as boating along its rivers and lagoons, jungle hikes, and visits to local communities. The Reserve plays a crucial role in the conservation of the Amazon and its ecosystems.

Throughout the tour, you will savor a traditional lunch onboard, indulging in the typical flavors of the Peruvian Amazon while marveling at the jungle's biodiversity. With some luck, we could spot playful monkeys, exotic birds, and an incredible variety of fish, including the renowned piranhas. There will also be time to attempt piranha fishing using a handmade rod.

We will venture into the Amazon jungle on foot. Discover the towering Lupuna Blanca, a massive tree that rises over 70 meters high and is centuries old. This natural giant acts as a guardian of biodiversity, surrounded by lush vegetation and intriguing wildlife. Its imposing trunk invites a moment to pause, reflect on its magnificence, and learn about its importance in the Amazonian worldview.

As the day concludes, we will return by boat to Nauta and proceed by road to Iquitos, where we will drop you off just a block away from the historic Plaza de Armas.
