Manu Jungle Trip

DAY 1

Our journey begins bright and early with a hotel pickup in the city of Cusco. Our transportation will navigate through quaint villages en route to the charming town of Paucartambo, situated at 2,906 meters above sea level. This delightful town is famous for the La Virgen del Carmen festival.

As we continue our journey to Manu, lunch will be served en route to the Cloud Forest. Along the way, you'll be mesmerized by the stunning flora and fauna, including orchids, bromeliads, and the Peruvian national bird, the cock of the rock.

Manu National Park spans the regions of Cusco and Madre de Dios, covering 2 million hectares, and is divided into three zones: the Manu reserved zone, the cultural zone, and the restricted zone.

We'll arrive at our lodge located in the cultural zone of Manu for an overnight stay. This rustic lodge features delightful trails extending around 5 kilometers, perfect for exploration anytime with a professional guide. A delicious dinner will be served.

DAY 2

Our day begins early with a brief excursion to spot the emblematic Peruvian bird, the Cock of the rock. After returning to the lodge, we'll enjoy breakfast before continuing our adventure to the town of Pilcopata.

For thrill-seekers, there's an opportunity to engage in Rafting, an exhilarating adventure on the Koñeq or Alto Madre de Dios rivers, featuring class I and II rapids for one hour. This activity promises excitement and adrenaline.

Next, we'll proceed with the tour to Manu National Park, heading to the Port of Atalaya for a boat ride to our second lodge, nestled near the Alto Madre de Dios River and surrounded by an incredible 90 hectares of jungle biodiversity.

We'll explore the lodge's surroundings, strolling along nearby trails to admire diverse plant species. Later, we'll embark on a night tour to observe insects and amphibians. All meals are included on this day.

DAY 3

During our morning walk, our guide will explain the area's biodiversity, the ecological systems established to preserve these regions, and the principles of sustainable development. We'll take a boat across the river and then enjoy a 30-minute walk through the area's impressive flora.

The day in Manu continues at Machuwasi Lagoon, where we'll paddle in rustic canoes to observe local wildlife, including birds, monkeys, and alligators. Manu is part of the world network of Biosphere Reserves.

In the evening, we'll embark on a walking night tour around the lodge in search of insects. All meals are provided on this day.

DAY 4

Our final day begins early as we take a boat to visit the macaw clay lick, a clay wall popular with various species of birds seeking nutritional balance. This is an unforgettable wildlife spectacle you won't want to miss.

We will then return to the lodge and embark on a boat ride back to the port of Atalaya, where our transport will return us to the city of Cusco. Lunch will be provided along the way.
