The Cusco mountain biking tour begins with a pick-up from your hotel in the city, heading towards the start of this thrilling biking adventure. Your journey will take you to the Fortaleza Colonial Aqueduct, located in the Tica Huerta – Huarahuaylla community, along the route that connects the districts of Poroy and Chinchero, at an elevation of 3890 meters above sea level.
This picturesque site features a Roman-style stone wall with four windows and a main arch, all well-preserved. Constructed in 1570, the aqueduct has been recognized as a Cultural Heritage site. It served as a vital water source for the city during the Inca Empire.
From this point, your biking adventure will lead you to Apukunaq Tianan, or the Adobe of the Gods, located near the aqueducts. This site is a collection of stone-carved sculptures depicting gods and figures from the Inca culture, including the Puma and Pachamama, symbolizing mother earth.
Following a downhill path, you'll pass through various traditional districts such as Tica Tica, offering breathtaking views of Sacsayhuamán. Enjoy a scenic bike ride through neighborhoods like San Benito, Picchu, and Independencia until you reach the Pachacutec roundabout.
Here, the first circuit concludes. A transport will take you to the second starting point in the community of Huayllarcocha. You’ll visit a local farm to admire incredible fauna such as llamas and alpacas.
Next, embark on another bike ride along a downhill path, this time passing close to Sacsayhuamán, and arrive at the district of San Cristobal, where stunning city views await.
We will proceed along Saphy Street until we reach Plaza de Armas, the location of the remarkable Cathedral of Cusco.
After this unforgettable adventure, we will drop you off at your hotel.
