Tour Description

Arrival in Cusco

DAY 1. Upon your arrival at Cusco's airport or bus station, we will be there to greet you and transfer you to your centrally located hotel. The remainder of the day is yours to acclimate to the altitude. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Cusco City Tour and Four Nearby Ruins
DAY 2. Enjoy a leisurely morning. We will pick you up from your hotel to begin the tour with a visit to the Temple of the Sun, known as Koricancha. This site exemplifies the blend of Incan and Spanish cultures, with the foundations used to construct the Church of Santo Domingo and its convent.
Next, we will visit the Cathedral in the Main Square, renowned for its exquisite religious paintings from the Cusco School. The Cusco City Tour proceeds to Sacsayhuaman, an astonishing archaeological site with massive stones perfectly fitted together, reportedly constructed by over 20,000 men over 70 years.
Our journey continues to the Qenqo temple, a sacred site where the Incas worshipped deities such as the Sun, Moon, and Earth. Experience the underground galleries and admire the semicircular amphitheater. We then head to the Puca Pucara military complex, known as the "Red Fortress" for its reddish hue.
The tour concludes at the water temple of Tambomachay, featuring aqueducts and waterfalls fed by nearby springs. We will drop you off at El Regocijo Square at the end of the tour.

Sacred Valley of the Incas: Via Ferrata + Canopy + Box Lunch

DAY 3. After breakfast at your hotel, embark on a full-day tour of the Sacred Valley. We will collect you from your Cusco hotel and journey towards the Sacred Valley of the Incas, connecting the villages of Pisac and Ollantaytambo. After a one-and-a-half-hour drive, we will reach our base at Pachar, located 33 miles from Cusco.

Equipped with safety gear, you will begin climbing the Via Ferrata Sacred Valley, featuring iron rungs embedded in the rocks. Alternatively, you may choose the zip line path.

An hour into the Via Ferrata, you will arrive at a suspension bridge leading to the highest point of the tour, where you can enjoy a box lunch.

Afterward, descend through the Sacred Valley zip line for an adrenaline rush, with the longest line spanning 700 meters and shorter ones at 250 meters.

After this exhilarating experience, return to the base at Pachar and then take the bus back to your Cusco hotel.

Machu Picchu

DAY 4. Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Early in the morning, a tourist bus will take you from your Cusco hotel to the Ollantaytambo train station, where you will board a train to Aguas Calientes. From there, a bus will transport you to the stunning Machu Picchu Citadel, known as The Lost City of the Inca. A guided tour lasting two hours allows you to explore this remarkable archaeological site.

Machu Picchu, a World Heritage Site, was a central agricultural hub and a significant urban center of the Incan Empire. Enjoy your free time in Machu Picchu, capturing photos or, if you dare, climb Huayna Picchu (optional) to admire the full citadel view. You may also return to Aguas Calientes for lunch (optional).

Return to the Aguas Calientes train station to travel back to Cusco City, first arriving at Ollantaytambo station and then taking shared transport to your hotel.

Cusco

DAY 5. After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a free day to engage in personal activities and recharge for Vinicunca. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Mountain of Seven Colors - Vinicunca

DAY 6. Following breakfast at the hotel, we will pick you up for a 3.5-hour drive through untamed desert landscapes, snow-capped peaks, and alpaca herds. Upon arrival at the trailhead, enjoy a hot breakfast before starting the hike from Chillihuani at an elevation of 4200m/13,900 ft.

The four-hour uphill hike to the renowned Rainbow Mountains or Vinicunca offers breathtaking views of the Andes, glacial peaks, red mountains, rocky hills, and grazing llamas and alpacas. Upon reaching the summit, you might spot some Andean wildlife.

Vicuñas, akin to the Andean camel, are found in the wild only in this Cusco region. Vicuñas, smaller than llamas, have the world's most expensive wool. At the Rainbow Mountain's apex, take time to photograph and enjoy the majestic views. The surrounding mountains are red, with stunning vistas of valleys and the Ausangate Glacier Peak. Ausangate is the highest mountain in the Cusco region, part of the Cordillera Vilcanota Range.

While admiring the vibrant mountain views, our staff will offer hot drinks and share information about these extraordinary mountains and their colorful striations. After capturing incredible photos and taking in the views, we will begin a two-hour downhill hike.

Meet up with our trekking chef for a delicious, freshly prepared hot lunch. Afterward, visit local families to experience their lifestyle, as they maintain the ancient Incan traditions, speaking Quechua, practicing earth-based religion, and weaving textiles displayed in museums across Peru.

Finally, after interacting with locals, we will return to Chillihuani village to catch shared transport back to Cusco, arriving around 6 pm. We will drop you off at your hotel.
