Miraflores And San Isidro Bike Tour

Our cycling adventure kicks off at the meeting point situated in the Miraflores district. We will embark on this exciting bike tour by navigating through the picturesque streets of this tourist-friendly area until we arrive at the archaeological site of La Huaca Pucllana (please note that it is closed on Tuesdays and Thursdays).

Dating back to between 200 and 700 AD, this remarkable architectural complex was crafted by the Lima culture, a pre-Inca civilization from the central coast of Peru. The huaca features an impressive adobe pyramid, standing 25 meters tall, and is surrounded by courtyards, plazas, and various ceremonial and administrative structures.

If your tour falls on a Tuesday or Thursday, you will instead explore the Huaca Huallamarca, an archaeological marvel located in the San Isidro district. This stepped pyramid was constructed and utilized by different pre-Hispanic cultures over the centuries. Originally, it was a site of the Lima culture, followed by the Wari culture, and later the Incas, who each left their mark.

The huaca is primarily composed of large adobe bricks and has undergone several restorations to maintain its structure for public access. Numerous burials, offerings, and a variety of ceramic and textile objects have been discovered within, highlighting its ceremonial and funerary significance.

Continuing our bike journey, we will traverse the scenic parks of these two districts and head towards the Malecón of Miraflores, where you can enjoy stunning views of the Pacific Ocean as we ride along.

Our tour will include a visit to the Surquillo market, renowned as one of the liveliest and most popular traditional markets in the city. It's famous for its diverse range of fresh products, including fruits, vegetables, meats, fish, seafood, and an extensive selection of local culinary delights. You'll have the opportunity to savor a delicious natural fruit juice.

We'll take a relaxing break with a delightful coffee while enjoying a sea view. Finally, we will make our way back to the meeting point.
